Yes. Walk-ins are available daily on a first-come, first serve basis. Not every artist will be available for walk-ins.  Small and simple, less detailed pieces are considered as walk-in tattoos.  We do not rush tattoo process, therefore all big/large scales or detailed tattoos that require designing and require lengthy time period to finish should be booked in advance, so the artist has freedom to design a perfect piece for you.  For walk-ins, we recommend contacting the shop in advance about availability.

Yes, we recommend to call ahead to let us know the time you’ll be stopping by, so we can minimize your waiting time and provide you with any necessary information.

You must be 16 years or older to get tattooed in Ontario.   Under 18 years of age, must be accompanied by Parent or Legal guardian to sign a consent form in person at the studio for authorization to get tattooed.  (Both parties must have ID)

To get tattooed at 905ink you must provide a valid Provincial or Federal photo ID.

There are many different styles that tattoo artists can specialize in and it is important to find an artist that is going to be able to help you bring your piece to life.   Are you looking for portrait, black and grey realism, colour realism, illustrative, dotwork (pepper shading), geometric, Neo-traditional/traditional or Asian art?   Identify the style of tattoo/art that appeals to you.  Have a look through our artist’s profiles https://905ink.ca/artists/ to determine who does the type/style of tattoos you are thinking about getting!

Re-works and Cover-ups must be discussed/consulted, since not all artists can assist with such work.

First view artist portfolios https://905ink.ca/artists/ to see which artists’ tattoo work/style is appealing to you.

After that, to book a consultation/appointment https://905ink.ca/free-consultation/ , you can either click the provided link  or  stop by the studio or email  info@905ink.ca . In your email, please provide a detailed description of the tattoo you’d like to get, which artist you’d like to be tattooed by and feel free to include photo references. Please include the location of the tattoo and size you’d like the tattoo to be. Please share your availability and preferred dates to schedule an appointment. Once receiving your email, a member of our team will process your request and respond back directly.

The price of a tattoo will depend on the artist and the piece; however, our shop minimum is $150. If you would like a price quote, we recommend booking a free consultation https://905ink.ca/free-consultation/  with the artist of your choice to discuss style, size and placement.

Yes we can, Once we have your deposit.  We will not begin drawing for a tattoo until after a deposit is received.  And we may not have a drawing ready until the day of your appointment (Don’t worry, there will be time that day for any minor changes if needed).  We are sorry, but we cannot send designs by email, social media, text, etc.  If you would like to see a design before your appointment, you may try to ask your artist directly if you can come early to preview the artwork in person.

No we cannot, as an artists’ we have our process and our own personal time to design and our rituals of doing things and we would like to keep our tradition and freedom of creating art in a way we feel more productive and inspired.

Yes, without a deposit we cannot book a tattoo appointment or start the design/preparation process.

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to other artists.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE (No exceptions, and yes this is industry standard)
  • Deposits are applied toward the final cost of your tattoo at your final session.
  • Deposits cannot be transferred to another artist or customer.  But deposits can be transferred to another appointment as long as the deposit is not subject to forfeit (see below).

Deposits will be forfeited if any of the following occur:

  • If you cancel or reschedule with less than 72 hours’ notice.
  • If you reschedule an appointment more than once.
  • If you arrive for your appointment intoxicated or without valid ID and cannot be tattooed.
  • If more than 3 months pass without communication or attempt to schedule/re-schedule.
  • If you do not complete your tattoo within 1 year.
  • If you make major changes to your tattoo idea, concept, design, etc.
  • If you decide not to get tattooed.
  • Deposits cannot be applied toward merchandise or tips.

Please keep in mind that your artist may have already spent time drawing or preparing for your tattoo and at the very least has turned away other clients for that day because their time was already reserved.

We want you to be excited for your upcoming tattoo!  If you have any questions or uncertainty, it is best to consult directly with your artist.  Consultations are free and are the best way to discuss ideas and options and get all of your questions answered.  When you are fully committed and ready for your tattoo and trust that the artist you have chosen will do a great job, that’s the time to leave a deposit and set an appointment.

We suggest book your own appointment and consult your own ideas.

You can book in behalf of another person, but we do not recommend this at all because majority of the times, this backfires on the person initially booking an appointment. You’ll be responsible for no show/cancellations of another person or design changes they might have and not conveyed, miscommunication and time required and reserved.

Deposit is non-transferable (meaning – you cannot apply other person’s deposit towards yourself to benefit yourself).  Please keep in mind that your artist reserved their time to respectfully accommodate your appointment(s), therefore forfeiting the deposit.

If you give a 72-hour (three-day) notice, we can reschedule and transfer your deposit to your new appointment. However, if you contact the shop after the 72-hour (three-day) window or fail to show up for your appointment, you will forfeit your deposit.

Appointment cannot be rescheduled more than one time, unless approved directly by the artist for another chance to reschedule.

First of all – please let your tattoo heal for 30 days  and please follow tattoo aftercare instructions properly.  We cannot help you if it hasn’t been at least 30 days since your fresh tattoo.

Once your tattoo is fully healed and past 30-day point, please schedule time to come in to see your artist to take a look at your tattoo to see if it requires any further work.   Discuss all details with your artist regarding any cost or time required for touch up.

Rough body areas such as (hands, elbows, knees, feet) or heavy sun exposure body areas such as (neck, face and head) will definitely cost for touch ups.

If this has happened in very early stages of booking appointment, we suggest for you to contact the Artist asap, so they don’t start drawing/preparing for your tattoo and hopefully they can accommodate all your changes.  It is your sole responsibility that your message is conveyed to the artist before any design process has started.

The artist will let you know if the deposit of your appointment will be forfeited or cannot be transferred towards smaller tattoo or towards change of design idea, because the artist may have spent time drawing and preparing for your tattoo and at the very least has turned away other clients for that day because their time was already reserved.

If it is a must, bring your significant other or your BFF or sibling (1 person only).  Don’t bring your entire entourage.  We don’t have space for entire team and it’s hard to concentrate with too many interruptions.  After all we are trying to focus and provide you with clean work.  Please respect the artist’s space and time.

Bring a phone charger, headphones, portable game device, book – whatever will keep you busy and help time go by faster for you. It’s also a good idea to bring a water or beverage with you.

But try not to bring anyone with you if possible.

Ontario health department Act prohibits any animals in a tattooing facility.  So sorry, pets are not allowed in tattoo shop (not even a service dog). Fur is not sanitary, and animals shed constantly. No kids/toddlers allowed – it is hard to censor what goes on in a shop and if your child isn’t old enough to be in an adult environment, no matter how “mature” they are, then it’s not up to the shop to make their location “kid friendly”.  Children love to touch and they love to get into things. Curiosity is something that can’t be helped.   It’s not up to the artist to babysit your kid and if you’re getting tattooed then you aren’t paying attention to them which can leads to accidents. Tattooing involves chemicals, blood, sharps, and a host of safety precautions that children/pets don’t know about and aren’t capable of following.
Do not drink alcohol or take drugs before or during your tattoo session, if you are or appear to be intoxicated, you will not be tattooed and will lose your deposit for wasting time.

No, we don’t recommend and we do not provide numbing cream.  It makes it harder to push ink between skin cells. It makes the skin hard and unpleasant to tattoo, destroying detail for long-term. The tissue becomes more difficult to saturate. Numbing cream takes longer to tattoo the person and just ends up being a waste of time and day. Please do not use numbing cream.

Other than taking a shower, avoid everything for 30 days.  Don’t forget sunscreen Spf-50.  Most tattoos are healed in about 21 to 30 days. During the healing time it is extremely important to stay out of the water for any non-shower activity (no baths, no swimming/surfing in pools or oceans, no hot tubs, etc). So, taking a shower is fine.  While the tattoo is healing, it must be kept clean and dry but moisturized and you cannot wear any clothing or jewelry that will rub up against the tattoo (so no skinny jeans on a new thigh tattoo, no wool sweaters on a back tattoo, no watches on a wrist tattoo, etc). No work out for the first 14 days.  Eventually working out is okay as long as the tattoo doesn’t come into contact with anything dirty, like gym equipment or sweat, etc. If the tattoo or tattooed area feels uncomfortable or sore during your workout, you should wait few days before attempting to work out again.

We accept cash and credit/debit cards.

Staying well hydrated leading up to being tattooed, will put your skin in better condition. For large scale tattoos – moisturize the chosen tattoo area twice a day for at-least 10 days prior to your appointment.  This will help your skin become more resilient which helps allow the tattoo ink application easier, making the process easier for you and the artist.

Eat well and stay hydrated prior to your appointment. It doesn’t hurt to bring along a snack, especially if you’re prone to passing out.   Stick with organic food groups that are high in Vitamin A, B, C and K (google search food groups).

-Guzzle tons of water

-Carbs are good, but not too many

-Eat protein

-Skip the dairy

It is recommended that you eat one to two hours before your appointment and a meal full of protein and vegetables is a good choice.

AVOID drinking heavily 24 hours before your appointment, as alcohol acts as a blood thinner and can impact the overall appearance of your tattoo.

DO shower prior to your appointment. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to us

As time goes on, your tattoo ages and with exposure you ink starts to look dull.  Once your tattoo has fully healed and you move into maintenance mode 3-4 months later, you can try few things to keep your tattoo looking vibrant or revive your old tattoo.

  • Exfoliate your tattoo once a week (no more than twice a week)
  • Daily Moisturize your skin with unscented cream (vitamin E)
  • Wash your skin daily (chemical free gentle soap)
  • Always use sun screen (Spf-50)
  • Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water to keep skin moisturized
